Human Rights Day is observed annually on 10 December, commemorating the day on which the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948. The UDHR is a significant document, which lay down the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being, irrespective of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. The UDHR is the most translated document in the world, being available in more than 500 languages.
